$50,001 Cash from Ritchies IGA traded for the Toilet Paper

Who Gives A Crap 1egg1worldWhat does one do with 60,000 rolls of toilet paper? It is a question that has plagued even humanities greatest minds for centuries and one that had us dumbfounded too.

We had a tight deadline – The 60,000 rolls were arriving in a few weeks and then Who Gives A Crap offered us to borrow their warehouse for only a month. Beyond that – we were on our own. So in light of this potentially dire predicament we decided to think outside the square. We did what any sensible person would do and we began developing 100 potential/alternative uses for toilet paper. This quite naturally reached its heights when we used toilet paper rolls to go jousting. It went something a little like this:

To our amazement Jousting with TP rolls did not lead to the influx of offers as we were expecting. In fact, none of our 100 ideas seemed to encourage offers. At this point we were stumped. Surely by now we had proven the Toilet Paper (Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper) is the most versatile product in the world. It seemed the punters were uninterested.

Even an enormous amount of media coverage did not help us to attract offers.

So we got on the front foot and started approaching people directly. Still nothing.

We had all but lost hope when out of the blue we received an email from Jarrod from Ritchies IGA. Turns out Jarrod had been on long-service leave for a month – hence the very tardy reply. Luckily for us though, Jarrod loved what Who Gives A Crap are all about and he decided to come on board and help us sell some TP!

This is how it all went down:

But we’re not out of the woods just yet. If the Toilet Paper doesn’t sell we could be back in the same predicament – stuck with lots and lots of toilet paper – so this trade needs your support. If it sells well there is a chance that Ritchies will also stock Who Gives A Crap in an ongoing basis, which would be fantastic for Who Gives A Crap and Sanitation around the world.

This trade, which if successful will take us to $50,001, will make us the highest anyone has ever traded up to. Kyle MacDonald famously traded from a paperclip to a house which was valued at between $45K-$50K, so we’re excited to be breaking new ground from now onwards.

But don’t forget to buy our TP and help us on our journey towards $1million!
